Muslims around the world are celebrating the special month of Ramadan where they fast and perform special religious and cultural habits since the early days of the Islamic civilization.
These accumulated events of celebrating Ramadan did not only affect the culture of the Islamic and Arabic countries, but also it has its affect on the art and design through the ages such as Arabic calligraphy.
Arabic calligraphy has special character formatting that makes it flexible and can be formed to create unique designs, shapes and artwork. Also, there are many types of Arabic calligraphy that were generated due to the wide area of the old Islamic civilization that expanded across Asia, Europe and Africa.
These different types of Arabic calligraphy empowered artists to create different forms of artwork that is based on Arabic words. Based on the above, Ramadan events had special influence on artists and drove them to create Arabic calligraphy artwork for special moments.
I tried to find some Arabic calligraphy artwork that represents this month and how Arabic artists expressed it in their Calligraphy artwork, I hope you like this collection and I would be glad to hear your comments on it.
